If you're someone who’s invested time and money into eyelash extensions, you know how disappointing it can be when they start to fall out sooner than expected.
In this article, find out how long MeAmora eyelash extensions last and discover 8 top tips from our experts to help you maintain your lash extensions so you can enjoy beautiful, fluttery lashes that last!
How long do lash extensions last?
Did you know that your lashes are constantly growing and shedding? The growth cycle can last anywhere from two to eight weeks, and all of your lashes are at different stages of the cycle at any given time. Salon-applied lash extensions are individual lashes, so as your natural lashes shed, your extensions will gradually fall out too.
At MeAmora, our Lash Up® clusters are designed to provide a natural-looking lash enhancement that can be easily applied and removed in the comfort of your own home.
Generally, the lighter the lash, the longer they’ll last, so we use high-quality and professional Korean PBT silk fibres to make our lash clusters. These fibres are incredibly lightweight, making them comfortable to wear and long-lasting.
With proper care, our high-quality lash clusters can last up to 10 days, giving you plenty of time to enjoy your beautiful lashes.
8 ways to make your MeAmora lash extensions last longer
#1 - Avoid water for the first 48 hours
Our super-strong Lash Up Bond and Lash Up Seal are essential components of MeAmora lashes. The Lash Up Bond is specifically designed to provide a strong hold between the lash extensions and your natural lashes. The gentle formula is infused with biotin and castor oil, which nourish and promote the growth of your natural lashes. The Lash Up Seal will remove any tackiness from the bond and set the lash extensions in place.
To make sure you get the strongest bond possible, we recommend allowing the Lash Up Bond and Seal time to dry and set in place, as contact with water or moisture during this time can weaken the bond and cause the lashes to fall out.
For this reason, we recommend that you avoid water for the first 48 hours after application. This includes swimming, showering, or washing your eye area with water.
#2 - Use Lash Up Extend
Lash Up Extend is specifically designed to prolong the lifespan of your MeAmora Lash Up® clusters. Infused with green tea extract, Lash Up Extend will help keep your natural lashes healthy and strong while encouraging them to grow.
#3 - Avoid waterproof makeup
If you're a fan of waterproof mascara, you might want to reconsider when it comes to your lash extensions.
Waterproof makeup can be a lot harder to remove than standard makeup, which means you'll need to use more force when cleansing your face. This can potentially dislodge or damage your lashes, causing them to fall out.
With MeAmora Lash Up® clusters, you won’t need to wear mascara! You can use a combination of different shapes and lengths to get your perfect look.
#4 - Use oil-free products
When it comes to caring for your lash extensions, using the right products is key. One essential tip is to avoid oil-based makeup removers and products.
Oil can break down the bond between your Lash Up® clusters and your natural lashes, which will affect how long they last. So, it's best to use oil-free products as much as possible, including makeup removers, facial cleansers, moisturisers, and makeup products.
#5 – Use a silk or satin pillowcase
Believe it or not, standard cotton pillowcases can cause your lashes to fall out. Cotton is a more abrasive material, so your extensions can easily get caught or pulled out while you sleep – especially if you sleep on your stomach.
We recommend sleeping on your back to avoid putting pressure on your lashes. However, if you’re worried about rolling over during the night, try using a silk or satin pillowcase. These materials are a lot smoother than cotton, so they can protect your lashes while you’re getting your beauty sleep.
#6 – Brush your lashes when needed
Brushing your lash extensions might seem like a small detail, but it can make a big difference in keeping them looking their best. Brushing your lashes once or twice a day can help avoid kinks and tangles and remove any debris that may have accumulated on the lashes.
We recommend using a clean spoolie brush to gently brush your lashes, but it's important to be gentle, as any rough or aggressive brushing can weaken the bond between the extensions and your natural lashes.
#7 - Don’t use a mechanical eyelash curler
While a mechanical eyelash curler can be a great tool for giving your lashes extra lift, it’s not ideal for lash extensions.
Lash Up® clusters come in a range of different shapes, designed to provide a natural-looking lift to your lashes. Using a mechanical eyelash curler can create a bend that won't go away and can potentially damage the extensions or pull them out altogether.
#8 – Avoid touching your eyes
Fiddling with your lashes or rubbing your eyes can cause your lash extensions to become misaligned or fall out. Be gentle when you’re washing your face or applying makeup so you don’t rub or pull on your lashes.
